Seattle’s oldest church, founded in 1853, FIRST CHURCH UMC OF SEATTLE, sold its Fifth and Marion building and purchased a new site at the corner of Second Avenue North and Denny Way to build a house of worship and a new urban outreach center.

The First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1868. After suffering two fires, the current church, designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham - constructed from limestone - was completed in 1895. In 2001, Schuler Shook successfully completed the lighting renovation for the Sanctuary as part of the architectural renovation led by Goss Pasma Architects

We were originally brought on to the Grace Church project in Brooklyn Heights to update and refine the lighting inside in the interior and the exterior of the church. Design goals included an increase in usable light levels for the aging population, reduction in energy usage, and a maintenance-friendly system

Bridget Williams Lighting Design was selected by the Dioceses of Orange in California to illuminate and bring to life a newly imported 45 foot tall by 30 foot wide Retablo with matching Tabernacle, Ambo, Altar and Baptismal Font. The results earned a Lumen West Award in 2010.
