Soaring and serene, the unadorned elegance of this contemporary church posed a deceptively simple challenge to the lighting designer.   Fixtures needed to be invisible from the public areas of the church and provide enough illumination to bring the wood to life without generating excessive heat.   Long lamp life was a necessity, as was a full range of dimming effects.  The wooden webbing conceals LSI tracks mounted with 300 and 500 Series Spotlights, which supply the requisite long and medium throws, along with high-intensity accent lighting.  QM500 Series wide-angle Halogen Wall Washers provide seamless washes of white light to enhance the wood's natural glow from top to bottom, with dimmer control for achieving proper color and balance.

"We wanted to create the illusion that illumination was coming from everywhere and nowhere in this boldly modern church.  The all-over, incandescent glow complements the warmth of the wood and towering architecture, and also helps invoke a feeling of awe in visitors." - Helen Peterson, Lighting Designer
